6 Reasons To Get the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 Instead

Samsung recently released its new line-up of products including the Flip and Fold series. While there are distinctive changes in the Flip, a large number of tech reviewers are failing to see a significant enough upgrade when it comes to the Fold6. If you’re considering getting it, here’s why you should get a Galaxy Z Fold5 instead.

No changes in the camera

Even after a year, the camera on the Galaxy Z Fold6 is essentially the same one found on the Fold5. The same triple camera setup with a 50 megapixel main camera. Pictures and videos look the same and are easily overshadowed by devices that offer significant improvements such as the S24 Ultra.

AI features that will be carried over

The AI features that were showcased during the Galaxy Unpacked event will eventually be made available on other S and Z series, notably the Flip and Fold5. The features may not be available on the Flip of Fold 4 which puts the Fold 5 in a sweet spot when it comes to value.

Same battery and charging speeds

The Z Flip6 did see a bump up in its battery life, but the Z Fold6 retains its 4400 mAh battery, with no difference in its charging speed. A larger vapour chamber, along with a more efficient battery may extend the battery life of the device however, it is likely to be insignificant enough for an upgrade.

Minor design tweaks

Aside from very minor changes, it is almost impossible to distinguish a Fold5 from a Fold6. You may have to rely on the newer colour options, otherwise a majority of the design elements of the Z Fold6 is significant enough. Most of your friends would probably fail to tell the difference, so why not opt for a more economical way to impress them?

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is highly capable

The previous flagship processor from Qualcomm was incredibly impressive and till today, it remains highly capable. Even for tasks that require high processing power such as rendering videos or gaming at 120 fps, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is able to handle such tasks.

The price tag

Getting the latest and greatest often comes with a price tag, and with the aforementioned points are you willing to fork out over RM7,000 for a single device? And if this is your first foldable device, it may also be quite a costly gamble.

Conclusion

Thankfully you can always seek out older, more affordable options at CompAsia. Not only do we carry the Z Fold4 and Z Fold5, we also carry other brands like the Oppo Find series. You can even check out regular brick phones if you’re not ready for foldables.
